TomTom created the easy-to-use navigation device, one of the most influential inventions of all time. Their application and navigation technologies power over hundreds of millions of applications across the globe. This includes industry-leading location-based products and mapmaking technologies, embedded automotive navigation solutions; innovative personal navigation devices and apps, and advanced telematics fleet management and connected car services.

They continue to shape the future, leading the way with autonomous driving, smart mobility and smarter cities. They wanted to upgrade their mobile app with car charging management feature. They asked me to do some research on charging system and proposed a better solution which will be highly useful, easy to use and will have slick look.

Target Audience

The person who has job or doing business and has ability to buy at least a low graded electric car and also who is familiar with smart phone.

Competitor Analysis

The Netherlands is planning to phase out all internal combustion engine vehicles by 2035. The Netherlands has the highest ratio between public charging points and electric vehicles. 47% of Dutch drivers often or always charge at work.

Daily Life

Richard working in a multinational software development company as a Senior Marketing Analyst. Everyday he drives from home to his office which is 7km far from his house. So basically each day he drives 14 km minimum. On the way he gets 1 charging station and other then that station, most of other stations are situated in other ways.

He wants

  • Richard wants a single app which will control his whole car power system.
  • He doesn’t want to switch one app to other.
  • He wants his car app should notify every time when car power down under 70%.
  • App should interact with car navigation panel through Bluetooth
  • App should have feature to accept voice command like siri. So that he can talk and change the route easily.
  • Should be intelligent enough to suggest destination from my history.
  • He doesn’t want to carry any card for charging
  • He wants to pay through his app.
